The house was originally built for the manager of the Marble mine in the area, but construction was stopped after the mine closed down over twenty years ago.

The location had a lot of potential for a tourism development that would generate income for the local communities, but finding a partner was a challenge. This is where Trevor came in.

Trevor had a vision of what would work best in this joint venture. The idea of House on the Hill self catering was born.

So Trevor and his team started at transforming the dilapidated house into a comfortable and luxurious place to stay.

Once the main construction had been done, the focus turned to the fittings in the house that were constructed at the Nott’s farm before hand.

Finishing touches were added, with all the equipment one might need when on a trip to this remote area.

House on the Hill was born and is quickly becoming a sort after accommodation.

In February and March 2014, two additional cottages were built. Each of these cottages sleep two people in one bedroom.

The two cottages were designed along the same lines of the main cottage and took a total of two months to complete.

With the addition of these two new cottages, it allows for larger groups and a secluded getaway for those wary travelers passing through the area.
